Here is a l ittle feedback which may be useful to others at some time: Following the helpful responses on this list to my original posting I contacted Lewisham Local Studies by email and the librarian was able to give me the details I wanted from the marriage register the same day (at no charge ) and added his own helpful comments, including: "'Of this parish' is not to be taken too seriously in Lee, where there was a tiny population and a large number of marriages."
