If the deceased was away from home, then s/he may well have been buried where they died as it would have been expensive to bring them "home". OTOH, if the deceased was not local they may have made provision for the burial to have taken place in the family parish. Burial registers, like baptismal registers, weren't made up at the time but may have been done once a week, once a month or even once a quarter. In the interim a note would have been made on a scrap of paper or committed to memory with the result the scrap got may have been lost or mislaid or memory failed so the event didn't get added to the burial register. Sometimes the BTs will produce the entry if the scrap was found or something jogged the memory. Sometimes entries were noted in a day book but not always. If you give the name/s of the people you're looking for together with any other information you may have that might help, perhaps someone can find the burials. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
