Hello Bill, There are at least a dozen references in the Old Testament to Remaliah, most of them in in the 2nd Book of KIngs, the others in Isaiah and Chronicles 2. The references always seem to be to him as the father of Pekah, who murdered his King and reigned in his place for 20 years. No doubt his popularity was as a King rather than as a murderer ! This spelling appears to be the only spelling used in The King James' Bible which is probably as good a guide as any to Engish usage and spelling in days past.
