My great- great - grand-father was Dive King -  married Harriet Tolhurst. They were born in Ivy Church circa 1816 & 1819 respectfully. They were married in Romey Marsh. Their son, Charles King (my gr-grandfather, was born circa 1848 They later moved to the USA where Charles married Margaret Barringer and had my grand-mother, Clara King. I'm looking for copies of records of marriage and/or birth (like where can I write to obtain such)   And I'd be interested to know if I have any living cousins in that part of the country. To find a birth or a marriage you can get free access to BMD's on this web addy below. http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl I have found the marriage entry on freebmd Dive King and Harriett Tolhurst Romney Marsh Volume 5 page 473 Registered June Quarter 1843. To obtain this certificate go to this addy http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ 2. Registrations of BMD's started in the Uk in September 1837, therefore you will have to go to the original Parish Registers for the births or rather baptismal entries of the parents Dive and Harriett. Seeing as Harriet and all the children were born Ivy-Church according to the 1851 census it might be wise to start here.
