My ancestors Thomas Tunbridge and William Beane, both Quakers, were imprisoned a number of times in horrific conditions in Dover Castle between 1656 and 1684, but I can find no record of Dover Castle and its prisoners in that period. I found the details of their imprisonment in the book 'Sufferings of Early Quakers', but would be grateful if anyone could tell me of any other sources of information I could use to find out more.
