    3. Im trying to find more detail on Samuel Goddard . I have a Samuel Goddard m Elizabeth Brookes 1772 Lewes and I believe was based in Hastings . A Samuel Goddard who married Elizabeth Bevill 1802 Hythe in Kent and I have two children I know of from this marriage 1814 and 1817. I dont think these are the same person but more likely father and son I cant find a birth for the son. I havent been able to trace the death of either Samuels or Elizabeths but the children were born in Guernsey.Ive no idea why they would have been born in Guernsey. Ive been through the military links for Goddards and I have come up with Capt Goldsworthys 1st Dragoons , 16th Dragoons, 20th Dragoons, 14 Regiment of foot , 50th Regiment of Foot and Royal Volunteer Artillery all Samuel Goddards in this timeline. I have a death Cert for one of the children Selina Collins which states her father was a Captain in the Army but this data is not always true depending on who supplied the data, as she died here in New Zealand. One of the children Eleanor Bernard retired to Hastings St Leonards on Sea and I found her on the 1891 census an inscription on an old photograph of her stated she died about 1904 but there doesn't seem to be a record of it. The only confirmed data I have is that Elizabeth Bevill married Samuel Goddard it was mentioned in Solomon Bevill's will and that the children's grandparents were Solomon Bevill as mentioned in personal letters between them and other family members at that time. Can anyone help or advise where to go next?
