    3. Hi Anne No Marriage that I can find by other means but I have not got the marriage cd......only the baptisms. Just a thing of note Anne, Bermondsey is being transcribed by the West Surrey FHG not Kent. 4 Asquiths on the CD 13 Wigmores and a swag of FARMERS, loads in Bermondsey. lee is 3.6 miles from Bermondsey according to Parloc Parish locator. BUT There is an Edward Thomas FARMER baptism St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey 25/9/1796 to Nicholas and Ann (ropemaker), birth date 22/8/1796 (making him 24 at marriage) I wonder if this is him. others of lesser note..... 2. There's one Asquith In St Mary Mag, Bermondsey, Bapt Thomas Gibson Asquith son of David and Susanna, captain, 29/9/1786 born 6/9/1786 Susanna???? 3. There's also a David FARMER, son of Edmund and Ann, baptised 14/2/1728/9 born 13/2/1728/29 These are all Bermondsey St mary mag and notice the links to the sea (Captain, ropemaker) Casting my eye quickly down the list of Farmers, they could mostly be connected to the sea, ropemakers, Mariners, Captain, carpenter (could be ships carpenters) 4. There are three Asquiths in Hoseleydown, children of Phillip......and interestingly, there is a Susannah wigmore born Horsleydown, St Johns to A William Thomas and Susanna WIGMORE, bapt 11/4/1798 and born 20/3/1798 - WT was a biscuit maker. 5. You still need the marriage to really clinch the birth hon...... But I hope this helps a little. 3. Thanks, Pam - I have the FARMERs pretty well sorted in Bermondsey, I just can't find the marriage of Edward Thomas. The Farmers were ropemakers/mariners/carpenters; the Edward Thomas baptised in 1796 is him (he?). I'll investigate the Susannah Wigmore 1798 baptism - the family bible has her dying in 1872 'in her 75th year' so that might fit. What I really need is the 1820 marriage! And an ASQUITH/WIGMORE marriage would be nice too ;) Anne pam hillier wrote: > Hi Anne > No Marriage that I can find by other means but I have not got the marriage > cd......only the baptisms. > Just a thing of note Anne, Bermondsey is being transcribed by the West > Surrey FHG not Kent. > 4 Asquiths on the CD > 13 Wigmores and a swag of FARMERS, loads in Bermondsey. > lee is 3.6 miles from Bermondsey according to Parloc Parish locator. > BUT > There is an Edward Thomas FARMER baptism St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey > 25/9/1796 to Nicholas and Ann (ropemaker), birth date 22/8/1796 (making him > 24 at marriage) I wonder if this is him. > others of lesser note..... > > 2. 1. Re: [KENT-ENG] St Margaret's, Lee - marriage 1820 SUCCESS !!
    2. Anne Chambers
    3. Huge thanks to Pam Hillier for finding the baptism of Susanna Wigmore at St Johns Horsleydown - I have now found a marriage on the Surrey marriages CD published by the West Surrey FHS for William Thomas WIGMORE and Susanna ASQUITH - so that nicely establishes the Wigmore/Asquith connection and explains the mourning ring - Amos Asquith's will mentions his daughter Susanna. Thanks, too, to Judy Lester - I've emailed the Lewisham Local Studies people but I am now pretty certain that the St Margaret's, Lee, marriage in 1820 is the one I've been looking for. What a good start to the week! Anne South Australia pam hillier wrote: > Hi Anne Snip > 4.
