Hello Berry, I can't tell you exactly when "Settlement Examinations" as such. ceased to be conducted though I can tell you that the whole context of settlement and removal which inevitably would have involved some form of "examination", was still causing controversy in 1854 when there was a Settlement and Removal Bill going through Parliament .
