It has a table of various types of warships, , leading naval nations, and the number of each class of warship. It shows that we have twice as many Battleships as any other nation; more than twice as many cruisers as any other nation; More in fact of every class of naval ship other than submarines and torpedo boats -where the UK is second to France. Buchanan recently wrote a book that included a bit about maintaining the British navy on par with that of France and Germany.... Churchill, Hitler, and "The Unnecessary War": How Britain Lost Its Empire… The book is an interesting read....a lot of facts are presented including the struggle to maintain the parity of the British naval fleet. The book is a new look at the times just prior to WWI and the period between the two WWs. Buchanan is one of the historians who feels that two decades between the wars was an intermission of sorts and that the wars were really one WW. Steade
