A family of a similar name arrived very early in the colonial Maryland, USA. In fact, there is a Kent County, Maryland, founded in 1642, named for the English Kent County. The county seat is Chestertown. The Maryland Lucas family intermarried into the Swan, Hughes, and Rice families, as well as my Crago family. Are the Swan, Hughes, and Rice families also represented in the Kent County, England? Regards, Steade
Thank-you Sue.Judy and Steade.. and everyone who made contact with me.. Steade >>your names aren't in my research.... There are so many LUCAS families . Should I come across any of them will let you know.. i have not been able to find the marriage of FRANCIS LUCAS and ANN.JAMES Actually, I was assuming Sarah b 1820 was their only child. However, she was the last child of 6 .. and i discovered Francis died the same year. '' The first child born abt 1802..he was named Francis. (1) FRANCIS LUCAS was born Jan 1762 and christened >>25th June @ St Boltoph Without Aldgate London... 3 of his children christened at St Mary's LEWISHAM..
