I did post a couple of weeks ago about the puzzle of my uncle's birth mother . I thought you might like a quick update As you might remember I was looking for an Edith Olive COLEMAN otherwise known as Edith Olive QUESTED born according to her death cert in Marylebone 1895 The informant on the death cert was L G MABEY son in law, so I found his birth (14.02.1926) and his mother was also a QUESTED, so sent for his birth cert hoping that his mother would lead us to our Edith Lawerence George MABEYS mother was Amelia Charlotte QUESTED and his father is down as George MABEY ( can't find their marriage) So I went straight to 1901 and found Amelia with her brother and her parents Amelia & Frederick QUESTED and living with them at the time was a 5 year old girl called Edith COLMAN with place of birth unknown, I have been unable to find the family so far on 1911 but its early days yet, but it least its solved the reason she used Coleman and Quested as a surname Karen Peterborough
Karen, In 1911 you'll find the family in Camberwell (London), indexed under INESTER. Edith is still with them. RG14/2471 SN357.
