    3. Hello Mary, Strood and all other Medway Union parishes are available, free, online at http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/ >From the volume of mail I receive containing queries about 'getting around' on Cityark I know that a number of people are completely confused by Cityark's setup. To clear the fog for people, I've posted 3 FAQs online that answer the questions from....'how do I find...' to 'is there an index', which can be found at the links included below. Please read the first on the list as it will tell you how to begin by finding the parish you are interested in. 3. Hi Zandara Thank you for your reply.. I have trolled through Medway records for days and then saw that there was a CD that covered Strood baptism records and just wandered if someone could have a quick look in case I missed something in the millions of searches I did on Medway without any luck..My Eliza said she was born Strood but I feel she was not christened there as I can not find her in that area.. Is it unusual for a person to be born in one place and christened in other. The father was a brickmaker so I feel that he must have moved around to find work.. Thanks for the info sites they are very useful Kind Regards Mary Sydney ----- Original Message ----- From: "zandara" <zandara@cogeco.ca> To: "Mary Paterson" <themaryp@ozemail.com.au>; <KENT-ENG@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2010 1:14 AM Subject: Re: [KENT-ENG] CD for Strood > Hello Mary, > > Strood and all other Medway Union parishes are available, free, online at > > http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/ > > From the volume of mail I receive containing queries about 'getting > around' on Cityark I know that a number of people are completely confused > by Cityark's setup. 3. Hi Mary, My dads brothers and sisters were born Greenwich and Deptford but always seemed to be baptised in the same Church. The Worwoods even waited to return from Birmingham to rotherhithe surrey before baptising two girls at the same time......one was 5 at the time of her baptism. "Usually", although not always, when this happens the vicar puts the birth date on the baptism register. Perhaps you need to expand your search in years. Moving around seems to be an issue here. Cheers Pam from Adelaide Australia > luck..My Eliza said she was born Strood but I feel she was not christened > there as I can not find her in that area..
