    3. Hello Robin, The grandsfather, if born after 1-7-1837 should have a birth certificate which will give the details you require. Log on to Free BMB where you have the the quickest way of finding the registration of his birth. For the details you then send the information gained to the BMD Record Office at Southport. I have an individual who appears to have lived at the Spalding Workhouse , born in Kent ,and although a single woman had several children born while she was a resident there. She was a fieldworker , is possible there were different fathers for her children? Any comments welcome. I am trying to get a birth certificate for my husband's grandfather who according to his family, was an orphan. I have checked the cenus but grandfather changes his birthplace on at least two.
