Dear Pauline, Just to thank you so much for responding. I am not sure what is happening with my email because I never got your message on the Kent list either!!!! I must thank John Farrow for letting me know that a reply had come through and I found it in the archives, so once again thank you so much. Yes I had got the date of birth wrong - a simple but very stupid typo. I don't think my fingers were in synch with my brain (what's left of it!). This ties in with Jeremiah Milsted who was appointed a Constable in Plumstead in 1782 so now I can search for his parentage. I am very grateful to you for taking the time and trouble to reply. It has helped me a lot. Kind regards, Helen Carlisle
You may find that the Milsteds were from Tenterden area . While researching Couchmans Cushmans, var. I found quite a few there , working back from Thomas Couchman who married Eliz. Milsted 1822.
