These gentlemen are unlikely to still be alive :)) Have you checked the CWGC site to see if any of them are there? > How do I go about looking for their marriages and > children there of without costing $$$$millions. I've had families die out because the children didn't marry or didn't have surviving children. > Any suggestions > would be helpful. You seem to be using credits to search FMP, have you thought about getting a monthly sub to Ancestry and unsubbing when you've found what you are looking for? It's a cheaper option and one I find very cost effective. Cheaper still: you can also search for free on Ancestry. Your local library may have the Ancestry library edition which should be free for you to get confirmation (or not) as to whether the people concerned are yours but you won't get any details beyond what's in the indices without getting the certificates to confirm the father's name. FreeBMD have images you can search and they are free of charge. I'm not sure the extent of their coverage but they will not extent beyond 1983 when the GRO indices were digitised. For anyone not already aware, as Glenda is, Rootsweb have a "no living people" rule: <quote> Don't include identifiable information about living people without their direct consent, or, in the case of minors, the consent of their parent or guardian. This includes (but is not limited to) a person's full name, location or contact information. </quote> http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/rootsweb/community_guidelines.html -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
