At last I am getting to the modern generations and with a visit to UK coming up in May next year I am wondering if anyone has any HELP that can lead me to tracing "today's" relatives. I would love to meet them. I have got 3 males who (presuming no deaths occured) would have been 66,64 and 59 in 1961. How do I go about looking for their marriages and children there of without costing $$$$millions. With 3 boys I would be very unlucky not to find some descendants?? Wouldn't you think. They were all born in Maidstone, actually lived in Tufton St Maidstone (wish I'd know this when there in 2006) been in that house since 1881 census. Any suggestions would be helpful. The Findmy past is too expensive to check every ΒΌ from 1911 to see if married. All help very much appreciated. Glenda Hi Glenda, I cannot promise to find anything for you, but if you would like to send me details of the parents of the 3 males mentioned above and the full names of the 3 males I will try and trace some info through Ancestry UK for you. Glenda I finally found my Living relatives (cousins) in Maidstone and Sheerness, Kent and in Petersfield/Eastleigh area of Hampshire. For many many years my mother and I wrote to the old addresses I had found after my grandfather died (NSW) - and always received 'no answer'. Mind you the last letter came to him in 1936 :) About 15 years ago, I contacted the Salvation Army Missing Persons Office. My mother had been very ill and was always worried that the family had lost contact, so I asked the Salvo's to help find the cousins. As it was a case of reuniting a family - they were glad to help. Within 2 weeks we had a call from the Salvation Army with exciting news that they had found our cousins and a warning not to get excited and run up a large phone bill between here and the UK :) My mother was very excited and she and her cousins started writing letters a couple of times per week. I have kept all of them. Since then I have met most of my cousins, as I am lucky enough to be able to visit the UK almost every year. We all keep in touch by email. The cousins are in my own age group (2nd cousins). The oldest was my mother's first cousins - a brother and sister who were both in their mid to late 70yrs. One cousin (Margaret) got her daughter to teach her how to send emails and she kept in touch with me, until she died last year aged 87yrs. Her brother and his wife write to me at Christmas and sometimes in between. It is the children and grand children of these two who keep in touch. We have had a great time swapping images and stories. We were great supporters of the Salvation Army before this - and even more supporting now.
