    3. Riding on this thread, does anyone know of a good source for extinct pub photos? I'm looking specifically for The Red Lion and Star in Strood which was run by my gg grandparents until its disappearance around the start of WW1. Apparently there were very old carved beams in the building which were taken by the brewer (possibly Leney) to install in his own house when the pub was demolished. John --- The pub is still there .
