    3. In 1901 there is only one man, coincidentally in Kent (John STAPYLTON), who has been enumerated as born in Burberry Hauthorn (sic). In other censuses, he is enumerated as born in Hawthorn, Durham - so Burberry, in that case, was possibly the name of a house. Other censuses show Burberry, Warwickshire (can't find it), Burberry, Berkshire (a mistranscription of Blueberry), Burberry Herefordshire (actually Busberry, probably Bosbury) and Burberry, Oxfordshire (actually Banbury) as places of birth. What other information do you have about your ancestor ? Can you be more precise about the date of birth ? Have you looked for the birth registration in FreeBMD ? If you give us a name we may be able to help further.
