I am not convinced that the Alfred in the 1881 and 1891 censuses is your man, given the difference in place of birth. You have not provided any rationale on why you think it's him, other than DOB. Your man is, presumably, the one in the 1911 Census, age 34 and born in Swamcombe, wife Bessie 28, children Bessie Mary 10, Lily 6, Elise May 4 and George 10 months. They are in the 1901C at 171 Prospect Ave, Strood Intra, although Alfred is now 38(?) and born in Northfleet, Bessie is 19 and Bessie M is 10 months. Also at #171 is Mary Fay, Bessie's mother, several of Bessie's siblings and a boarder. Northfleet is acceptable as a POB because it is right next door to Swancombe. According to the census, he was 34 and born in Swanscombe, which is just west of Gravesend. That would make him born c1877. There is no Alfred Austin born in that area in that age range BUT there is an Alfred Thomas Austen born 1875 in the Gravesend District. If it were me. My guess it is now Vicarage Lane. It's the only street that goes from Lower Halstow to Newington. School Lane goes south and then turns east to join Vicarage Lane. From The Sunday Times ( London, England ), Sunday, October 12,1823; pg. 2; Issue 52.   DIED. On the 27th ult. in Best-street, Chatham, Sophia BROWN , a maiden lady, aged 67.  She lived 27 years in the room in which she died, without once having it cleaned.  A considerable sum in gold was found in five different pockets attached to her person.

The GRO index shows the death of Rosemary Joan A EVERTSZ in April 2001 at Tunbridge Wells. I think that her address may have been in Tonbridge. It gives her date of birth as 10 June 1936. I believe that this may be Rosemary Joan Althea WELLS born 1936 daughter of Adelaide TIPTON and step-daughter of Walter TIPTON. I am trying to confirm that they are the same person. It appears that Rosemary married outside of England and Wales. The last record I have of her is from before her marriage on a passenger list of a ship sailing to Jamaica in 1956. I believe that her family have an interest in their family history as I found reference to Rosemary on a now defunct family history website. I have only just found this information. I am not related but Rosemary and my wife were school friends in Bombay in the 1940s and I have been trying to trace her for a number of years. Does anyone know anything of this family. I am researching my g.g.grandfather James Wright who was born around 1830 in Hertford England and was sentenced at the Maidstone Quarter Sessions at Kent on 14.10.1845 and was sentenced to 10 years. He went to Millbank Prison and was transported to Australia in 1847 as an exile aged 17 years. I am having trouble finding any information about him or his parents in England. I was wondering if there were any records from Millbank as to parents, where he was living or any other information. many thanks
