    3. Hello Ruth You can go into the site , just click Search and it will bring up the search page. Also if you sign in to the site, the first time I did not have to sign in for 3 weeks . Just had to click on Sign In and it signed me in. Next time I only received 2 weeks. I find it easier to use , I click on Search , enter the Surname , then England, then Meopham. It returns all Birth,Marriage, also all census . Some you have only the person named and you have to go to Find My Past, You can find the family by going through the list and looking for names with the correct parents Bob -----Original Message----- From: Phyllis Sent: Thursday, August 8, 2013 3:02 PM To: kent-eng@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KENT-ENG] LDS website Ruth I've tried that, but I have to sign in with password, what! is that all about, what happened to entering ones ancestor name with bdm or any country etc. Phyllis ----- Original Message ----- From: "Acorn Cottage" <orange.wasps@live.co.uk> To: <kent-eng@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 09, 2013 4:33 AM Subject: Re: [KENT-ENG] LDS website > Try www.familysearch.org > > Ruth > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: kent-eng-bounces@rootsweb.com >> [mailto:kent-eng-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Phyllis >> Sent: 08 August 2013 19:26 >> To: kent-eng@rootsweb.com >> Subject: [KENT-ENG] LDS website >> >> Can anyone tell me if the www.familysearch.com has changed? >> it has been a few weeks since I went into the website, now >> when I enter any name it comes up No Record >> >> Phyllis Bartlett >> Qld Aust >> >> ------------------------------- >> To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to >> KENT-ENG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' >> without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >> > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > KENT-ENG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to KENT-ENG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. His apprenticeship started in 1759 and was for 7 years so theoretically he wouldn´t have been free till mid 1766. You state that he was a successfully trained goldsmith but all we know is that he ran a goldsmiths shop. Have you any proof he finished his apprenticeship, not everyone did? Seemingly he married Mary, a minor, in 1767, not very long after he would have finished his apprenticeship, so he probably wouldn´t have had much money to do so; another reason for thinking he may not have served his full term as most fathers consenting to their daughters marriage would have wanted to know there was enough income to support her. Several children were born in London. A great many more were born in Canterbury so are you also sure it was the same wife - Mary was a very common name. Maybe he even left London to go off with another woman. The advertisement only says ¨late in the occupation´ it does not say that he was the owner. Sorry a lot of negatives I know but could explain some things. Diane
