I am searching for any information about Augustus Kempf, who was in New York in 1860. He was married to Josephine Barbara or, possibly, E.L. Muller, at that time. He had a son, Edward, who was one in a long string of men named Edward. Edward had a son, Edward Leo, who was my GGrandfather. Edward Leo had several sons: Edward, Jesse (my grandfather), Otto, August, Carl, and two daughters, Mary and Dolly. So, while the name is not "Kemp", in some instances the "f" may have been dropped.
