Greetings All. Have you seen the movie "Titanic" yet?? If not, it is truly a spectacular picture, and should not be missed. As a sidebar to the movie, I thought you would like to know about one of the Titanic's crewmen - Thomas KEMP. * * * * * * * * * * Thomas Hulman Kemp was 43 years old, and was an Assistant Engineer (Refrigeration). He was born in Southampton and served his apprenticeship with the London & South Western Railway Company and sailed in vessels owned by that concern. He spent four years with the Isle of Wight Steam Packet Company and a short time on the private steam yacht "White Ladye". He served ashore in Southampton with Harland and Wolf, but decided to go to sea again. His first appointment was to the "Titanic". He held a first class engineer's certificate. He lived in Southampton, where he left a widow and one daughter.
