I am researching Barnet Banes (Barney) KEMP. Barney was born July 2, 1833 in Alabama. He died August 19. 1906 in Mills County, Texas and is buried in the Pleasant Grove Community Cemetery in Mills County. He married Sarah Ellen BECKNER Gaines August 13, 1865 in Dallas County, Texas. Sarah was the mother of Simeon B. Gaines by a previous marriage to S. H. Gaines. Together Barney and Sarah had eleven children one of whom was my great grandmother Mary Adeline KEMP HORTON.
