My husband' is descended from John A. Kemp, b. 1793 in NC. His children by his first wife (unknown) were Henry*, Kinchen, John, Joshua, Sara, Siety (Society), & Zilphy. He lived in Emanuel Co. where he died in 1859. He may have fathered twin infants buried in the Kemp cemetery known only as G.M. & L.L. Kemp b & d 8-5-1817. The only other Kemp mentioned in Emanuel Co at this early date was Thomas who received a grant. We think that John A. may be the son of Joshua, Jr of Craven Co. NC. But have no actual proof.
