The number of Kemp's on the mailing list is growing steadily and I hope I will have some luck this time! My ancestors all come from the area surrounding Harby, Leicestershire (Near Melton Mowbray, Leicstershire; Nottingham, Nottinghamshire; and LIncoln, Lincolnshire). I have traced my line directly back to the mid 1550's but although there have been several generations with several male Kemps, I have been unable to find anyone else that comes from that line that still has the Kemp name. If anyone out there has any information about any Kemps from that general area of England, I would appreciate it if they would let me know. Thanks.
