    2. I have always thought my Jonathan Kemp who was Captain of the Burke Co NC Company of Light Horse in the American Rev. was somehow related to the Iredell Kemps.? Can you help?? -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: KEMP-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 7 Dec 2008 9:21 am Subject: Re: [KEMP] Squire KEMP and more This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: pjkemp197 Surnames: Kemp, Gouger Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kemp/987.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have been trying to find information on my husband's family. He is descended from John Kemp. According to my records, Squire Kemp was a sibling of Evan Kemp (my husband's ancestor.) I have received information that John Kemp is buried in the Kemp family cemetery and that Gail Kemp had a map of where this cemetery is located. John apparently was born in Iredell County and died there, however, since it borders Wilkes County, perhaps this cemetery is located somewhere in Wilkes county. I am very interested in locating this cemetery. I have relatives that lived in Iredell County at the same time as John and his family. Any information you might give me would be greatly appreciated.
