Author: k_courts Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kemp/1771/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I would very much like to be invited to join the Kemp family discussion group, my great great grandmother, Sarah Letticia Kemp, born january 1, 1834 in Fauquier County, Va. and married George Nicholas Fitzhugh on February 1, 1849, and died on December 7, 1925 at New Iberia, La, and had one daughter, Katherine Fitzhugh, who was born on December 1, 1853 and was called, Kate. This is one of the Fitzhugh families that moved to Louisiana after the close of the Civil War. The father and mother of Sarah Letticia Kemp were Daniel L. Kemp of Fauquier County, Va and his wife, Letticia Roach , and they were married on the date of August 29, 1825 in Faquier County, Va. Also, Sarah Letticia Kemp had a sister, Mary V. Kemp, who was married to Abram Samuels, son of Abraham and Hannah Samuels, and Mary V. Kemp and Abram Samuels were married on the date of November 12, 1856. Mary V. Kemp and her husband, Abram Samuels, resided in Wood, Va. in Jackson, County, Va. and Abram Samuels worked as a carpenter.
