    1. Re: [KEMP] Fwd: FW: Ira Kemp--Child of Elijah Kemp and Anna Wheeler
    2. Hi David: My Kemps started with gr-gr-gr- grandfather Johan Wulf Kaempff, who located near Albany in the 1750-60s. He and the next two generations were at various times in Rensselaer, Albany, Schoharie, Schenectady and Fulton counties. In the early 1800s one an- cestor married into the Flower(s) family of Greene County, so there was a con- nection to that area. My records are rather spotty: the Kemps seem to have moved around a fair amount, and didn't have a strong denominational affiliation, so christening and marriage rec- ords are hit-and-miss. I'll check what I have, however, to see if there's mention of an Elijah in my great-grandfather's generation (b. 1828). Worth a shot, though there are quite a few unrelated Kemps (of English ancestry) in the same area. Will let you know in the next few days. Best regards, Steve Hicks

    3. Steve, I would sincerely appreciate that and look forward to your response. I will forward the last couple of census listings that I have to see if it helps make a connection.
