Joseph was the son of Lydia McElwain (sister of Frances' mother-Elizabeth McElwain Orr)& David Russell. I went to high school in Columbia, TN and worked at Maury Co. Hospital for 18 years in the operating room. I moved to FL in 1984. The information my aunt had says that John & Alexander Orr went to Maury Co. and were cabinet makers. I find a Joseph Orr b KY there also. Is this their brother? He's married to Mary Alderson and is listed as a merchant on the census. I haven't been able to find John Orr after 1880 census. Do you know where he is buried? Do you have any information on his children? His first wife died in child birth and the child was raised by his wife's family. He then remarried and had 2 sons. He and this wife divorced and I haven't been able to track down these children. My email may have been full. I've had company and haven't checked it in a few days. Perhaps you could try it again or give me your address. I'm so glad to find someone with some of the answers to my questions on this line.
