However, the records I mentioned were the only Sarah KEMPs found in the IGI, four were christened at Portsea, the other two out of area at Brading and Selborne. The 1851 census gave Sarah's age and birthplace, but we cannot really deduce anything about her baptism records. I guess the first place to look is the marriage lines, which should give her father's name and occupation, as well as her age at marriage (would she lie there as well as to the census-taker?)
