She was possibly born in March 1888 in Mississippi or Kemp City, Polk Co, AR. She may have been an orphan and lived in TX by 1900 (one possible census record). She married John Miller Claybrook in the early 1900's. The 1920 US Census lists her and her parents places of birth as Mississippi. Her mother or grandmother was reported to be a full blood Cherokee or Choctaw Indian, (but was possibly not on the rolls) and had married a white man. All of the family members I have spoken to believe that this was her given name and Lena was not a shortened name or nickname. If anyone knows who her parents were and where I can find them I would GREATLY appreciate it.
