Kemp, 85, of 2 East Academy St, died Friday (Feb 8 1985) at Bethesda Community Hospital in North Hornell following a long illness A native of Castile Center, she lived in Hartsville for several years prior to moving to Canisteo in 1955. She was the widow of Pearl Kemp who predeceased here in 1969 She had worked as a seamstress for the former Modern Cleaners in Hornell and also worked privately in her home doing clothing repair with alterations. Survivors include two daughters, Lucy Kiefer of Dansville and Glenora Seeley of Rochester; a son Jack of Canisteo, a brother, William Courtney of Perry; a sister Mildred Day of Emporium, PA; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today at teh HP Smith and Son Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo where a service will be at 11 am Monday with the Rev. Cassandra officiating.
