(2) the 2nd son was normally named after the mother`s father. (3) the 3rd son was normally named after his father. (4) the 1st daur was named after her mother`s mother. (2) the 2nd daur was named after the father`s mother. (3) the 3rd daur was named after her mother. 80% of the time the above formula was used. Which leads me to the conclusion that John Kemp`s B. 1673 parents were John Kemp & Jenat Chambers, not Robert Kemp & Lybra Rea as the names Robert and Lybra haven`t been used in the naming of John Kemp and Janet Macklay`s children!
