My great great grandfather (James Kemp) was born on 14 March 1842 in Bishopsmill, Elgin (Scotland). He moved around a bit and his children were: Duncan Kemp, born in West Calder, 1871 Marion Kemp, Mill worker born in Govan 19 February 1874 Elizabeth Kemp, housekeeper born in Govan 1876 John Kemp [3], born in Glasgow/Govan 1878 Alexander Kemp, born in Greenock 1880 James Kemp, born in Greenock 1882 After that they were on the other side of the river before settling in Old Kilpatrick for a few generations.
