    3. Hi Carole Firstly I know next to nothing about DNA research so take anything I say with a pinch of salt. I may be wrong. I only got the results of my test on Friday and so far I've only been able to work out what markers 390 and 391 and the values of 23/11 mean,. According to Ken Nordtvedt who seems to know about this, my ancestors moved to the British Isles from the Denmark to Belgium part of northern Europe sometime between 400 and 1000 AD and are known in DNA circles as North Sea Baltic. Here's where I found this, http://www.pbase.com/daveb/boyett_dna1 Ancestry.com, who did the test, have a few matches for me that go back to a common ancestor around 750 - 2000 years and the public boards have a few more. I'm frantically reading up on DNA and it is very complicated but I see there is a Kemp DNA board so I'll post there and see what happens. I'll keep you all updated on how it goes if anyone is interested. 3. Well, that is very interesting about your ancestors moved to British Isles from Denmark to Belgium. That is the kind of thing I would like to hear. I find the whole thing really intriguing! 3. Hello KEMP researchers, Edmund KEMPE, from Gissing, Norfolk, was a solicitor, and he came to Virginia in 1644. All I know about his wife is that her given name was Anne. Does anyone know her maiden name? His father, also Edmund, was b. 1606 and died about 1649, when his estate was administered. Again, all I have on his wife was her given name, Bridget. That Edmund's father was Sir robert KEMPE, Esq., b. 28 DEC 1567 and m. Dorothy HARRIS in 1596 at Creeksee, Essex. He was b. and d. at Gissing, Norfolk, 23 OCT 1612. I have this KEMP line back 15 more generations, and several of the wives have well known families, also, if anyone is interested. As for DNA, I think it's worthless, unless you have two people who may be your ancestor and there's no other way to find out which is which. You pay a big hunk of money for nothing. That's just my opinion, however. 3. A week ago I'd have agreed with you. The test was not cheap and it took me a long time before I decided to go ahead. But that was when I thought I was a canny Scot. Now that my DNA has shown that I come from Danish stock I have been enjoying opening my wallet in public and I no longer have to recycle my teabags or listen to Rod Stewart albums. It was worth every penny :-) > As for DNA, I think it's worthless, unless you have two people> who may be your ancestor and there's no other way to find out which is> which.
