Mr. Austin Eugene Kemp Sr., 89, of 2402 Ellsworth Way, Frederick, died Monday morning, July 3, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Katherine DeLauder Kemp, who died in October 1993. Born Sept. 27, 1910, in Frederick, he was a son of the late Clayton Eugene and Alta Shafer Kemp. Mr. Kemp was a lifelong dairy farmer on Rocky Springs Road, Frederick, until his retirement in 1975. He drove a school bus for the Frederick County Board of Education for more than 25 years. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Frederick and the Frederick County Farm Bureau, and was a life member of Yellow Springs Lions Club. Surviving are one son, Austin Eugene Kemp Jr. and wife Carole of Frederick; one granddaughter, Marcia Walton and husband John of Frederick; and two great-grandchildren, Gregory Lambert and Katherine Lambert. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the funeral home, with Mr. Kemp's pastor, the Rev. Dr. Joseph R. Foster, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
