Linda- I have another KEMP/ South Shields connection from the marriage between Jesse Susan Kemp, and Henry Martin sometime in the 1860's. Henry Martin was from the Northern Border area, but Jesse was from Croydon, and I've never figured out how they met. All the Martin children stayed in South Shields and had summer homes in Bamburgh, at least up to the end of WWII> Gosh, I wish you knew of the people!
