The major compiled genealogy for the MARVIN family George Franklin Marvin and William T. R. Marvin Descendants of Reinold and Matthew Marvin of Hartford, CT, 1638 and 1635 Sons of Edward Marvin of Great Bentley, England 1904 says that Silas MARVIN was born in 1805 in Norwalk, Connecticut, and married in 1827 Judith KEMP who was born in 1808 in Virginia. They appear in the 1850 census in Jackson Township, Richland County, Ohio, and in the 1870 census in Plymouth Township, Richland County, Ohio. The 1830 census apparently (I haven't checked it personally) shows in Sharon Township, Richland County, Ohio, a head of household named John Kemp, but I have not been able to show a connection between him and Judith Kemp Marvin.
