While we're discussing Francis Kemp... How about a Francis A. (possibly Asbury) KEMP, living in Weakley County, TN in the 1840's - 1850's. The 1850 census says F.A. Kemp and his wife Mary were from North Carolina. I have no idea where in NC and haven't had any luck finding further info on them. Francis and Mary had a son Edmund Kemp, Edmund died between 1855 and 1860, leaving several children, Edmund's family is listed as CAMP in the 1850 census, but all other records, tax, marriage etc list them as KEMP. Edmund's wife's name seems to start with the letters "Ala" and that's all I can read. Edmund Kemp had a daughter Sarah Caroline who married Riddle D. BAKER in 1863. Sarah and R.D. left Weakley county between 1880 and 1900, in 1898 they were in Burnett County, TX, where two daughters were married, but in 1900 were in Indian Territory, near Ardmore, Oklahoma. Sarah died in 1906. I know that Sarah had a brother named William. Anyone know anything about this family? Leslie Bell in sunny, warm, Arizona
