My gg-grandfather was David Montgomery Wood. He was orphaned during the Civil War and family stories relate that his father was Eben Wood - who did die in the Civil War. His mother was Martha Childers, but I've also seen family stories that she was married to Warren Wood. To this point, I have found no official documentation tying Martha to Warren or Eben. Any information that you can share on this would be helpful. I'm happy to share all that I know regarding David Montgomery Wood if that is something you are interested in.
