I leave this info posted for the next Family Member who comes by to search: William Kemps Parents: Alvah/Alva Kemp brn 1808 Vermont Died of Disease while serving in the Civil War in Alton, Illinois on Nov. 12, 1863. He is buried at Alton National Cemetery, Sect. C, Site 4 in Madison Illinois. He was a Private in Company F, 37th Inf. Iowa He married William's Mother Rachel Ann Stith on April 23, 1834 in Franklin County, Indiana. Rachel was his second Marriage. His first Marr was with Eve Barnhart in Union County, Indiana on August 8, 1831. Rachel was born abt 1819 in Virginia in most Censuses but Kentucky in one. Alvah and Rachel's Children: ELIZABETH: <1835> Indiana MARY F. <1837> Indiana WILLIAM: June 1839 Indiana, died 1918 Gaylord, Smith County, Kansas Civil War Veteran while Family was in Iowa NATHAN: Born Oct 27, 1842 Berrien, Michigan, died Feb 22nd, 1913, Phillips County, Kansas. Marr Sarah Carmen (brn 5/11/1843) JULIA: <1847> Michigan marr Thomas B. Jackson March 27th, 1862 Jones County MARTHA: <1849> Michigan EMMA: <1858> Iowa Before 1831 :Vermont to Indiana Between 1839 - 1842 Indiana to Berrien Michigan Between 1849 - 1858 Michigan to Iowa 1865 Civil War Over. William returns to Berrien to marry his love Clarissa J. Dalrymple (brn Sept.1844, Ohio). They were married April 2, 1865. Clarissa/Clara's Parents were Jacob Dalrymple and Lucinda Ussery. They stay in Michigan. Between 1872 - 1875 Both William and Nathan Families move to Kirwin, Phillips County, Kansas Between 1876 & 1877 William moves his Family to Gaylord, Smith County, Kansas.
