Hi Judy, I dont know if my mail gets to the KEMP list or not. I know that there is a concentration of KEMPs in Norfolk. I believe the east coast Scots would follow the fishing fleets down the east coast, obviously some of them must have settled in Norfolk - or maybe the opposite. ciao. art in Florida --- On Fri, 4/24/09, P & J Green <bjgr220@bigpond.net.au> wrote: From: P & J Green <bjgr220@bigpond.net.au> Subject: Re: [KEMP] Kemp of Aberdeen To: kemp@rootsweb.com Date: Friday, April 24, 2009, 5:51 PM Hi Art - one thing about the Kemps in Scotland is that they didn't tend, in general, to stay still for long which makes researching them all the more difficult. I would think that there were also Kemp lines that have been in England for a long time as well. Have you any dates or names that might give more information? He was a gentleman's servant through the 1790s & then became a publican in the early 1800s. If you can scan the birth entry you have for William 1834 & attach it I would appreciate it - I accept all 'donations' in this quest to put this Scottish Kemp tree together - not sure how you would do that - maybe easier to just type a transcription of what it says.
