Greetings fellow KEMP researchers! My grandmother Kate KEMP (1891-1944) was one of ten children and came from a long line of bricklayers, builders and carpenters: the KEMPs of Selborne, Hampshire. Kate was: the daughter of Colin KEMP (1858-1937) and Caroline nee GIBB, grand-daughter of Thomas (c.1832-1895) and Jane nee SNELLING, great grand-daughter of Thomas (c.1792-1871) and Maria nee VOAKES, great great grand-daughter of George (1749-1823) and Martha nee BIDE, great great great grand-daughter of George (1702-1751) & Hannah UNK. Is anyone researching this branch of the family? If so, please get in touch so that we can exchange information. Nigel Kemp (thanks again Nigel if you're on this list) very kindly sent me lots of info on the KEMPs, but I do have a few gaps which hopefully SKS might be able to help with. They are: George KEMP son of George and Elizabeth, christened in Selborne on 22 March 1702, married Hannah UNK. What was Hannah's surname and where/when did they marry? Thomas KEMP son of George KEMP and Martha BIDE, was born circa 1792. Where and when? Thomas KEMP son of Thomas KEMP and Maria VOAKES was born circa 1832. Where and when? She was 87. Graveside services were held Saturday at the Neodesh Cemetery with Darryl Graven in charge. Arrangements were handled by Loren Fawcett Funeral Home, Neodesha. The daughter of Arthur L. Linthicum and Cora G. (Dailey) Linthicum, she was born Jan. 13, 1897 at Colby, Kan. She was married to Harry Kemp in 1917. The couple were later divorced. She then married Charles Cline, Sr. Following his death she re-married Mr. Kemp. She was a Jehovah Witness. Preceeding her in death were: both husbands; two daughters; a brother; and a half-sister. Survivors include: two sons, Don Kemp, Neodesha, and Charles Cline Jr., Carterville, ILL.; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
