I talked to an archivist and he suggested that someone wasn't listening to her when they wrote it down the first time. Her daughter was my GGrandmother and on her marriage certicficate it states that her mother was Emma Kemp not Camp. In Emma's obituary she is listed as Mrs. Vickery (her second husband John Vickery) leaving two children Irene and John Cash - her first hsuband's last name - James Cash (my gg grandfather). I am trying to track this side of the family. She is buried with her first husband James Cash in New Westminster BC along with two other sons died very young - Charles and James Cash.

She ended up in New Westminster BC died at 37 years of age due to heart problems. Her mother was Jeannie Munroe or Jane Monroe, her father was Charles Kemp. She states on her marriage liscense that she was born in Vancouver. Does this have any connection - I am picking up on the Monroe name as the consistant middle name in your family. 1. Kemp Family in Tennessee

    3. Ah, but which Solomon Kemp? I am a Kemp family researcher and would be delighted to swap Kemp genealogy with you or anyone on the list. My Kemps came from NC to Smith Co., TN, then dispersed to other TN Counties, IL, MO, AR, TX. I am now primarily focused on pushing back through NC to earlier Kemps, possibly from New England, then England or Wales. All assistance here most gratefully received. The most senior Solomon Kemp in my tree is a grandson of Richard Kemp and a son of Henry B. Kemp: *Richard Kemp (~1715 - ?), married ~1735 is mentioned in the Johnston Co., NC, deed books as father of Henry Kemp and Henry’s wife being Dinah. ***Henry B. Kemp (1731/1736 – February 15, 1819<) married Dinah (? - ?). He was born in Queen Annes Co., MD (?) / Orange Co., NC (?), and migrated with his father Richard to Johnston Co., NC. After Wake County was created from Johnston, Cumberland and Orange Counties, Henry, about 1804 - 1806, migrated from Wake Co., NC, to Wilson Co., TN, and then later to the Defeated Creek area of Smith Co., TN. Some sources have the migration beginning from Granville Co., NC, which was just north of Wake Co., NC. He died in Smith Co., TN. His children were: *****Rebecca Kemp (~1755 - ~1833) was born in Caswell Co., NC and died in Wilson Co., TN. On 20 Jun. 1781, she married Roger Reece Jr. (1751 -1798) in Wake Co., NC; they had 4 children. Roger and Sarah Reece (Richard Kemp’s wife) were likely siblings. On 4 Nov. 1799, Rebecca married Fielding Neal in Granville Co., NC, marriage bond #5302. (This is the same day that her brother Richard Kemp married Sarah Reece!) *****Murphy Kemp (21 Mar. 1770 – 1851/1860) was born in Granville Co., NC and married Sarah See (22 Apr. 1775 - ?). They had four sons and five daughters. *****Burrell P. Kemp Sr. (~1771 – 1 Sep. 1827) was born in NC/VA and married Nancy Foster/Fauster (1765/1775 – 1835) on 15 Dec. 1791, in Wake Co., NC. He died in Cainsville, Wilson Co., TN. They had four sons and five daughters. *****Richard Kemp (1774 – 1850<) was born in NC, was literate and married Barbara (Sarah) Reece (~1760 - ~1833) on 4 November 1799 in Granville Co., NC, marriage bond 5303. Roger (Rebecca Kemp’s husband) and Sarah Reece were siblings. *****Solomon Kemp (1782 – 1861/1869) [1850 USC], born in Wake Co., NC, married twice, first to Judah (Juda) Lankford (~1784 - ?), daughter of William Lankford and Amanda Stone, on 7 Feb. 1801 in Granville Co, NC, then to Hannah (1788 - ?) [1850 USC], also from NC. Solomon and Judah had 4 sons and 5 daughters. *****Elizabeth (Hixie) Kemp (~1784 - ~1867), born in Wake Co., NC, married Jeremiah Shaw (~1779 - ~1855) 22 Nov. 1804 in Wake Co., NC. Hope to hear from you or any Kemp family researchers, Gary Pace San Jose, CA
