They were married in Tuscaloosa County, Ala. in 1840. I am unable to find them on the 1850 census, but find Mary Ann, widowed, on the 1860 census, with Post Office at Northport, Ala. Children were Wm Thomas, 19; John B., 17; Martha J, 15; Sarah A., 11; and Robert L., 7. Thomas was born in Georgia - when? Who were his parents? Mary Ann was his second wife -- were there children of the first marriage? Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Am searching for William Kemp, b abt. 1815, MD. William Kemp married Matilda Parks in Richland Co., Oh in 1837 and had three children, Van Buren Kemp, Perry Kemp and Andrew J Kemp. Matiilda died in 1844. In 1850 census the three children are placed in 3 different homes in Morrow, Coshocton and Richland Cos. No sign of William Kemp. I believe William might be a child of George Kemp (1788-1832) and Susanna Stevens/Stephens(1792-1860) of Frederick MD and Belmont Co., OH. At least one son J.A. Kemp settled in Richland Co. Any help placing William would be extremely helpful. Steve

Abel Wheeler Kemp born: August 26, 1802 in Fitchburgh, Massachusetts died after 1880 census, possibly in Sparta, Monroe County, Wisconsin. He married: Sarah Hagerty, August 1824, in Schenectady, New York. He may have lived in Troy and Watertown, NY, before going to Canada in 1833. He moved in 1835 to Sangamon River area of Illinois. About 1855-65, he moved to Havana, Mason County, IL. By 1870 he lived in Sparta, WI. In 1880 he lived in Sparta in the household of his son-in-law, Gustavus Simpson, and daughter, Mary.
