Hope someone might be reunited with a family heirloom!!! A man on e-bay (e-bay member name "teeknmom") has a couple old trunks that belonged to Ebenezer KEMP and George KEMP of Mass. and Maine in the 1700s-1800s. He is selling a powder horn and pocket knife right now (auctions end Jan. 6th & 7th). The knife is at: http://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290194942553 The powder horn is e-bay item #290195084189. Here's what he posted about the Kemps: Ebenezer KEMP was born 11 Jan 1749 in Groton, Massachusetts, the son of Ebenezer and Mary (Bradstreet) Kemp. He married first, 31 Aug 1773, in Groton, Mass, to Relief Phillips. They removed first to Shelburne, Massachusetts, where the first two children were born. They returned to Groton for a short period, and then removed to Gorham, Cumberland County, Maine, about 1784. Relief Phillips Kemp died about 1799, and Ebenezer married second, 7 Nov 1800, Gorham, Maine, to Lydia Elder. Ebenezer was a Private in Captain Henry Farwell's Company, Colonel William Prescott's Regiment, in the Revolutionary war. He enlisted from Groton on 19 Apr 1775. He marched with the company to Lexington on 19 Apr 1775 in response to the Lexington Alarm. Ebenezer died in Gorham, Maine, in 1833. Lydia preceded him in death on 18 Apr 1825. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. I would appreciate some advice. Charles lived in Bethnel Green, East London from, I believe, around 1912, at 7 Delta Street. He was a cabinet maker and then a haulage mover. Married to Harriett Elizabeth Newton, from Woolwich, had 8 children, George, Charles, Thora, Muriel, Harold, Stanley, Laurence and Sylvia. I can find no info on a wedding. Also there may be a Manchester connection and a first wife and children. How can I progress with this research if this is all I know?
