    1. [KEMP] Atlanta Ga Area Cemetery Recorda Available Online
    2. G.J.Pace
    3. Posted with Charlie's permission Gay Pace Researching Kemp genealogy To all my fellow researchers and friends, If you have not discovered this searchable data base before, take a look at this site on the Atlanta Historical Society website. This is a file of the cemetery records for the 5-6 county area surrounding Atlanta, published originally as the "Necrology" by Frank Garrett . I understand this info was compiled in the 1930s. It is very slick; just plug in a last name in the first slot and a " % " sign in the slot for first names and look at what you are getting! Request feedback on what you think of this site and any new discoveries that you've made within your own genealogy searching. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. http://garrett.atlantahistorycenter.com/glist.php Later, Charlie Kemp, Charles.Kemp.CTR@osd.mil Researching Kemp, Bishop, Waits, and Anderson heritage

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: cakemp1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kemp/1304.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: David Kemp and Others, I see no proof that John Kemp c1735-1740 who md. Mary Polly Craghead/Craighead and eventually lived in Franklin Co, VA is related to the Thomas Camp/Mary Marshall line. In fact, it is very doubtful this is so even though I, personally, have no documentation. So. . .go to the familytreedna.com Camp/Kemp project and look over the info there. It sorta shows that it is unlikely John Kemp c1735-1740 is of this line. I should like to find some sort of documentation. If others have such, please let me know. Thanks a bunch. Author: TBPurvis85 Surnames: Kemp, Daly, McDonnell Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kemp/1825/mb.ashx Message Board Post: We have a William Kemp in our Cork Ireland family who was baptized at St. Mary's Shandon Roman Catholic Church in Cork on 26 Feb 1881 and came to the US in 1905. A passenger list entry says that he was in New York city from 1905-1907, went back to Cork for almost a year, then came back to New York in May 1908. Family legend says that he was in the San Francisco earthquake in 1906 and stayed in the US (no location known) after he returned in 1908. He went back to Cork in 1928 to witness the marriage of his brother, Henry John. He probably died between 1937 & 1945. He was a son of William Abraham Kemp and Sarah Daly and his siblings were Mary Ellen (born 1863), Alice (b.1869), Oscar and his twin Isabelle Agnes (b.1871)and Henry John (b.1884). Author: cakemp1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kemp/17.236.239.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: David Kemp of Eugene, OR, Your website shows John Kemp as son of Thomas Camp and Mary Marshall. If this is so, then John would have to be born c1720. The John Kemp who married Mary Polly Craighead was born more likely 1735-40. He probably married Mary about 1760. Notice that I am hesitant about my info because I have no true documentation. Do you have any documentation at all for the connection of John Kemp to Camp/Marshall? Or is it a guess-by-golly and/or copied from someone else? I have tried over and over again to document this connection and no one can provide the research. If you do not have the documentation, then a YDNA test is about the only way you will have to prove a connection to the Camp line. You can go to www.familytreedna.com to see this Camp line which has been YDNA-tested. Cheryl Kemp Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Do you have any information on where John Kemp and Nancy Wallis are buried, and for that matter, their son, John (Jr?) b.1771 in Iredell County, NC m. Nancy Bicknell b.18 Feb 1778 in Morgan County, IN and d.19 Sept 1851 in Morgan County, IN d.1840 John Kemp, (Jr?). d.1840 in Morgan County, IN. It was quite a surprise for me and my husband to find out that both our ancestors were living in Iredell County, NC at the same time. (He was from the Chicago area and I was living in NC when we met.) We will be going to NC sometime this summer and would like to know anything we could about the family and perhaps find where they are buried. We have children who are interested in genealogy, so want to leave them with as much accurate information as possible about their ancestors.
