Does anyone have access to this material who can do lookups? Gary Pace San Jose, CA NORTH CAROLINA: 1784-1787 State Census of North Carolina. 2nd Edition (Register) Alvaretta K. Register Compiled from original records in the North Carolina Department of Archives and History, this work lists 14,000 heads of households and provides an enumeration of individuals in each household by age, sex, and race. In addition, individuals named are listed under a reference to the original census page, thus furnishing the researcher with a key to the manuscript records. Based on a special state enumeration, this 1784-87 census names many individuals who had left North Carolina by the time of the first federal census of 1790. 233 pp., (1971) Reprint 2009

My NZ cousin and her mother will be delighted. The little I can add is: - I have Charles Kemp born 26th January 1746. Parents of this Charles Kemp given as John Kemp and Augnes Wannen. There was an Agnes Vannan born 31st July 1715 in Clackmannan and an Agnes Wannen born 12th November 1798 in Tulliallan, Perth. On IGI Robert Kemp b 1638 and Lybra Rae b 1642 (wonder if that was pronounced Library?) are both shown as from Larbert, Stirling. If I find any more I will let you know. Do you have any other info on the twelve children of Charles Kemp and Jean Millar? All the best David Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This William Kemp, a shoemaker, married Helen Jack in Airth in 1836. Their daughter Elizabeth (Eliza) Kemp emigrated to NZ, arriving in 1870 at Port Chalmers, Dunedin on the Edward P Bouverie. Married a James French Rowland. I now have 12 children of Charles Kemp and Jean Millar as follows. Charles b 25 Oct 1801 Jean 1 May 1803 Agnes 3 Feb 1805 Janet 24 Aug 1806 John 7 Feb 1808 William 6 Jan 1811 Mary 6 Jan 1811 James 4 April 1814 David 28 May 1815 Mary 21 July 1816 Ann about 1818 Robert about 1826 As same direct line as yours, be really interested in the details back from Charles Kemp and Jean Millar. Levi married Esther Carey in 1817 and had another six children by her. I haven't been able to find anything about Hester before she married William Kemp but they are in the 1840 and I believe the 1850 cenus in Ohio (Ross, Fayette or Pickaway). Ollie: Did you find out who the parents were of Frances Diane Kemp and Henry Goodloe? I can help you with the parents of Henry Goodloe in about a month if you will contact me then, when I will have my family history back here. I know his father was George Goodloe, and I believe his mother was Diane Minor. They lived in Caroline Co., Va. and then Spotsylvania Co., Va. Henry was called the Marrying Minister of Spotsylvania Co. Henry and Mr. Waller were put in jail because Henry let Mr. Waller preach the Baptist religion in his home. He died 1875 aged 66, though no parents given on death record. As shown once as William Kemp Jnr, suspect parents as William (also an Airth shoemaker) and Janet Kemp, addresses all Cross of Airth, but according to IGI there was a William Kemp born Airth 6th Jan 1811 to Charles Kemp and Jean Millar, and my William's first child was named Charles which would support these as parents. An Elisa (Elizabeth) Kemp, daughter of my William Kemp and Helen Jack emigrated to NZ in 1870. Any help appreciated in confirming parents of this William Kemp.
