Would be interested to know where she was buried in Iowa. In the obit of which I am sure you have a copy it says she was cremated. Hope to hear from you. Always looking to find out about the family.I am married to a great grandson (Anderson). We have communicated previously. Her parents are buried in Crawford, Dawes Co. Ne. We have visited the cemetery several times and have photos. I also have made contact with the descendants of Clarence Guy Kemp the son of Ora and Mace Corsbie, the grandson that Samuel adopted. Would be more than happy to send you the updates of what I have found. Only one sibling of Mable's was buried in Iowa the rest I have found in various places. If I have mistakes would be happy to hear so I can correct. Look forward to hearing from you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. May give birthplace, but at least an idea of where they were born which would help. After that the Irish BMDs are LDS films, I doubt they are on familysearch. Author: RangerONS Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.kemp/1870.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Samuel Kemp who married Lucy Sluman is believed to be the Samuel Kemp born 8 Dec 1784 in Groton, Mass. Although Groton VR's do not list parents, it is probable that he was the son of Samuel Kemp and Elizabeth Kezar. If this is factual, then the Samuel Kemp of Salem would be Samuel (6) Kemp, descended from the immigrant Samuel Kemp. I have been working on the comprehensive genealogy of Samuel Kemp for more than 30 years. I've got literally dozens of "maybe" families such as this in my files. 2. Hello, You are speaking of Portland in Australia right? I am searching for my Kemp line in the Pacific Northwest in North America and there is a Portland or here. I have found that there was a fair bit of immigration in the mid 1800s from Australia and New Zealand to San Francisco, Seattle U.S and Victoria - New Westminster BC Canada - that gold rush! I am kind of leaning in that direction with my kemp side - Charles Kemp and Jeannie Monroe - only know of one daughter - b. 1869 in British Columbia - her granddaughter is named Genise which is a name that orginally originated in Australia. However the name could have come from a friend who was from Australia as well, but it is a clue none the less.
