    2. I am Jack Kemp at Stafford Uk and I will help if possible. My line is from Chipstable in Somerset c1767 and possible c1509. This is a list of Kemp Family History researchers which I have compiled from various sources. The one problem you may have is the main date line for this list was 1992. You pick out the nearest to your family location and write to that person or write to all of them to check for a connection. Yours Jack Kemp. 3. Ron, Welcome to the Kemp Family Association. I received your dues today, so guess that means you're officially one of us <G> Anyhow, I find five listings for E. T. Kemp in the rolls of CSA soldiers. None of them has a full name given, nor is there any Edgar Kemp listed. This is what I have: Kemp, E.T.; from Alabama; Co. A, 3rd Cavalry Kemp, E.T.; from Alabama; Co. B, 15th Batallion, Rangers Kemp, E.T.; from Alabama; Co. B, 56th Rangers Kemp, E.T.; no state noted; Co. C, Wood's Regiment, Confederate Cavalry Kemp, E.T.; no state noted; Co. B, 4th Confederate Infantry Not much to go on, but hope it helps. 2. ROBERT YOUNG
    3. Abigail KEMP was born 27 Mar 1665 in Billerica, Mass, the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Foster) Kemp. She married, as his second wife, James BLOOD of Watertown, on 20 Dec 1686 in Watertown, Mass. James was killed during a major Indian attack on Groton, Mass, on 13 Sep 1692. The family of Abigail Kemp is not found in Groton after this episode, but she is found in Andover in 1695, and her brother, Samuel, is found in Charlestown. In 1695, Abigail had an illegitimate child, possibly fathered by one of the Shattuck men from Groton. She was publicly whipped for her deed, and the family had to post a bond of 50 pounds to the town of Andover so that the town would not have to provide for the child. Abigail is "lost" after this episode, but it is believed she moved from the area and possibly remarried. Bob Young, Secretary Kemp Family Association [email protected]

    3. I am seeking information on Abigail Kemp who married James Blood on Dec. 20, 1686 and who had a child born too long after her husbands death, a crime for which she was publically whipped. Can anyone give me her parents' names and her birth and death date?

    1. Re: Reunion
    2. Hi. I see the Reunion is in Boston. A little irony - while I'm from Boston, that was the Tozzer side of my lineage. The Kemp side is from Louisiana. Unfortunately, that is where I'm stuck right now, as well, and can't make it up there in November. Hope you have a great reunion! dan

    2. ROBERT YOUNG
    3. Hi Folks. Reunion brochures are in the mail. If you haven't received one, let me know. I spoke with the Inn yesterday, and reservations are coming in. Right now, over 25% of our room block has been taken!! Because it is a B&B, and not a hotel, there are no extra rooms to be had. If you are planning to attend the Reunion, and will need a room, I'd suggest you call Captain Jack's soon. Looking forward to seeing you in Boston in November!! Could they be connected to the Conrad Kemp family of Frederick, Md? or Mattheis Kaempffer, of Berks Co., Pa? Both of these locations are close to Delaware. I do know that they spoke German. I am researching both of the above two families, as I descend from both. Plan on writing a book on these families. Thanks, Sally Kemp Hagins

    1. Re: Harvel Kemp
    2. Randy, You're in luck. My husband is also a son of Harvel Buford Kemp and his first wife, Lottie Lee (Laura)Bishop. I will e-mail you what I have from my Juno account as soon as possible. We knew about you (in a general way.) And, yes, Harvel Kemp has been dead since the early sixties. You may be interested to know that you have some additional half-siblings who were born in Savannah in the 1930's. They may have ended up in an orphanage. I'll get the Kemp stuff together and e-mail it tonight. My husband is Don Kemp, 103 Pioneer Trail, Marietta, GA 30068. You also have a half-brother in Wilmington, DE named Allen Harvel. The third brother, Roger, died in 1965 at the age of 24. I'll be back with you soon Peggy Kemp

    3. As I sit in front of the computer with a heat index of 110+ outside, all I can think of is the description of Capt. Jack's ... "room overlooking the ocean" ... can almost feel those ocean breezes. I'm certainly looking forward to meeting many of you who reside in that part of the country, though I feel like I know most of you already [email protected]#$%^,.^%$ (that was daughter's cat landing on my keyboard ... catsitting this week) as I was saying ... also looking forward to seeing old friends from previous reunions. For those that haven't been to one of our reunions, what can I say ... they're great! You'll have the opportunity for research on site, as well as off site; you'll get to meet other Kemp researchers and may even find a new Kemp "cousin" (happened twice last year). All work and no play as the saying goes ... remember to stop by the hospitality suite anytime - it's a great place to exchange ideas, lines, have a soda, check to see who else is going to lunch or dinner somewhere (for me this is one of the best times). Speaking of food, for someone coming from Texas, I'll probably live on "real" seafood the whole time I'm there! Sorry to get carried away, really wanted to let you all know about the NEW REUNION PAGE and ON-LINE REGISTRATION FORM that I've added. Also posted some more info on the inventor of the zipper. 3. A polite request to everyone on these lists, if I may. A lot of people are STILL hitting the "reply" button to send personal replies to queries on these newsgroups. This means that everyone on the list gets a copy, even though it has nothing to do with them. I delte nealry 2/3rd's of my e-mails every single day because they have nothing to do with me - including this morning. A little thought before replying would go a long, long, way! Thank you.
